A full machine refurbishment & CNC retrofit of this Giddings & Lewis G60T-X CNC Horizontal Borer.

The machine refurbishment included replacement of the slideway bearing material and scraping to re-establish machine accuracies, refurbishment of the axis drive ballscrews, re-grinding of the Quill taper & Spindle nose, rebuild of the Spindle Drive Gearbox & Power Drawbar, full refurbishment of the Automatic Toolchanger, replacement of all machine hydraulics, lubrication & counterbalance system with new.

In addition, the machine has also been fitted with a new Eimeldingen CNC Rotary Table with 20T loading capacity.

The CNC retrofit comprised fitting of a new Siemens 840D sl Control, new Siemens digital Spindle Motor & Drive, new Siemens digital Servo Motors & Drives, a complete new Electrical Interface and new Measurement Feedback Scales; in addition, the machine has been completely re-wired.
