A full machine refurbishment & PLC retrofit of this Cincinnati Heald Cinternal Grinder.

The machine refurbishment included strip to component level, refurbish slideways & hydrostatic system, replace axis drive ballscrews with new, full refurbishment of the workhead, spindle & magnetic chuck, full refurbishment of the wheelhead & swivel arrangement, full refurbishment of the servo dresser unit, fit new Marposs In-process Gauging, full refurbishment/overhaul of the hydraulic system, replacement of the lubrication & pneumatic systems with new and complete overhaul of the coolant systems; in addition, the machine guarding system has been refurbished & modified and interlocked to the control for PUWER compliance.

The PLC retrofit comprised fitting of a new Mitsubishi PLC Control including GOT Touch Screen Display, new Reuland Spindle Motor & Mitsubishi MEUK Drive, new Axis Servo Motors & Drives, new Linear Scales, a new electrical cabinet complete with all new control gear and a complete machine re-wire.
